Tommy Lennartsson
Chair
Conservation biologist, works at the Swedish Biodiversity Centre at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, and at the conservation foundation Upplandsstiftelsen, both in Uppsala. Studies relationships between biodiversity and land use in different ecosystems, including the significance of land use history. Another field of interest is biodiversity in novel biotopes such as road verges.

Karin Bengtsson
Secretary
Retired senior lecturer at dep. of Plant Ecology and Evolution, Uppsala university Campus Gotland. PhD in Ecological Botany, Uppsala University 1993. Research focus in plant population ecology and conservation in semi-natural grasslands, and regeneration of indigenous tree species in East African dry forests. Teaching in Ecology, Conservation, Environmental Science and Sustainability. From 1994 secretary of the board for The Foundation Extensus.

Saskia Sandring
Treasurer
Specialist in Environmental Monitoring at the National Inventory of Landscapes in Sweden and Butterfly- and Bumblebee Inventory at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Umeå 2008-2025. PhD in plant ecology at the Department of Ecology and Evolution, Plant Ecology, Uppsala University 2007. Interest in plant ecology, nature conservation, environmental monitoring and data analysis.

Regina Lindborg
Member
Professor at the Department of Physical Geography, with a PhD in Plant Ecology from Stockholm University. Research is mainly related to plant ecology with a focus on the management and conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem services in agricultural landscapes, linked to the effects of changing land use across different temporal and spatial scales. Regina Lindborg has coordinated several national and international interdisciplinary research projects and serves as a board member in various research-related committees and panels, including the Board of the Bolin Centre for Climate Research (Chair), the Board of Tarfala Research Station, and as an ERC panel member for the Consolidator Grant.

Emil V. Nilsson
Member
Emil is editor for Svensk Botanisk Tidskrift, a journal for members of the Swedich Botanical Society founded in 1907. PhD in Ecological Botany at the former dep of Plant Biology – now Plant ecology and Evolution – at Uppsala University. Emil previously worked at the museum Biotopia in Uppsala, and is engaged in various issues concerning biodiversity and conservation practice.

Jerry Skoglund

Chair and primus motor of Extensus 1994-2021. PhD in Ecological Botany at the dep of Plant Biology, Uppsala University 1990 with focus on seed bank and regeneration of wetlands. Researcher, lecturer and administrator at SLU 1991-2008. Also engaged in forest succession projects in Tanzania and Ethiopia. Teaching experience in tropical ecology, plant ecology and ecology of natural forests..
